O SAM7S256 baseado em ARM da Microchip é um membro da série SAM7S de microcontroladores flash baseados no processador ARM7TDMI RISC de 32 bits.

Ele opera a uma velocidade máxima de 55MHz e possui 128KB de memória flash e 64KB de SRAM.

O conjunto de periféricos inclui um dispositivo USB Full Speed --e Phy a 12Mbps, UART, dois USARTs, TWI (I 2 C), SPI, SSC, dois temporizadores PWM, três temporizadores de 16 bits, RTT, ADC 8x10 bits e 32 linhas IO . Ele obtém acesso de instrução de ciclo único a partir do flash incorporado a 27 MIPS.

A matriz de barramento multicamadas, vários bancos SRAM, PDC e DMA suportam tarefas paralelas e maximizam a taxa de transferência de dados.
O SAM7S256 opera de 1,65 V a 3,6 V e está disponível em pacotes LQFP e QFN de 64 pinos.
